Pastor: Rev. Stephen Murray
Stephen is married to Robin and they have two children – Genevieve and Christian. He’s a graduate of the University of KwaZulu-Natal (BA, English & Classics), the Bible Institute (BTh), and George Whitefield College (BTh Honours). Before planting Hope City, Stephen served in various ministry capacities at churches in both Durban and Cape Town. He has a deep love and passion for Cape Town city and he hopes to see, and serve God’s grace at work here. For his many sins he’s a long-suffering supporter of Arsenal Football Club, and he used to call himself a surfer but he’s not sure if he can fit into his wetsuit anymore.
Worship Director: Trevor Skead
Trevor is married to Nicolette. They have two children, Anna-Grace and James. He’s a graduate of the University of Pretoria (MA Theology) and the Bible Institute of South Africa (BA Hons Theology). Before joining the Hope City church plant, Trevor served in ministry at the Stellenbosch Baptist Church before spending a few years as web developer. He’s a little disappointed that Stephen gets to be at the top of the page, but he finds some solace in the fact that his wetsuit still fits.
Church-planting Resident: Wesley Marshall
Wesley is married to Nicole and they have one child, Jaxon. He is a graduate from the Cape Town Baptist Seminary (BMin Honours) and has previously served in ministry as a Youth Pastor and Worship Director. Wesley is planting a church on the east side of the city, where he desires to see this diverse part of Cape Town gather as one, to worship the one true God. Wesley is neither a soccer fan nor does he own a wetsuit. Instead, he pretends to be a celebrity chef when cooking for family and friends.
