How do you deal with deep-seated hostility between different groups of people? Our country is one with a history of such hostility. A long history of racial segregation and apartheid created many barriers between different groups that persist up to the present day. Does Scripture speak to such issues? In Ephesians 2:11-22 we get to see how Paul applies the gospel work of Christ to deep historic hostilities that existed between Jews and Gentiles. By studying his words we can learn much about how the gospel tears down the wall of hostility in our churches today, creating a new humanity made up of a racially and ethnically diverse group of people.
