Bible Text: Ephesians 6:1-4 |

Series:

In Ephesians 6:1-4, Paul continues to explore how the Gospel impacts upon and transforms our family and household relationships. In these verses he speaks to children and parents, showing us how a Christian understanding of obedience includes a heart dimension that broadens its definition to something much bigger than mere compliance, and how parental authority is ultimately meant to serve our children's growth in their understanding and experience of the Gospel.

Bible Text: Ephesians 5:21-33 |

Series:

Our present culture is extremely wary of gender roles in any shape or form. The biggest reason for that is the abuse suffered by women at the hands of men throughout history. In many societies and in many religious contexts, for thousands of years, women have been seen as, and treated as, inferior to men. There is therefore, good motive behind the current critique of gender roles. And because women are still oppressed and treated unfairly in so many contexts there is a sense of urgency to this issue. It’s crucial then, that we try very carefully, and with much humility, to see what the Bible does and doesn’t say about gender roles in marriage. Listen in as we explore Paul's instructions to husbands and wives in Ephesians 5:21-33.
