This sermon is the third in our series Ancient Grace.
Where does the story of Jesus start in the Bible? How you answer that question is going to shape the way you read and understand most of your Bible, particularly the Old Testament. The contention of this sermon series, Ancient Grace, is that the whole Bible, even the Old Testament is actually all about Jesus - about God's grace to us in sending us a Saviour to save us from our sin.
One of the prevailing ideas in our culture is that our own autonomy is the secret to our happiness. In Psalm 2 we gain insight into the nature of our world and the nature of our God, as we hear it expose the illusion of absolute autonomy and find hope in the solution it presents for our true happiness.
This is the fifth sermon in our six-part sermon series entitled Inside the Lion's Den. We've been looking at what it means to live faithfully as a Christian in a world that doesn't seem to follow God's agenda.
In this talk we see that God is in control over all the kings of the world and the forces that seemingly shape our lives, and listen to what that teaches us about our response to God and our circumstances as we follow him in this world.
