The big point over the last few chapters has been that Jesus is our great high priest. The author has been emphasising the fact that Jesus is the one who truly intercedes between God and humanity and that He is superior to the priests who come before him in the Old Testament because he brings a superior offering. The offerings of the Old Testament were not sufficient to truly clear the conscience of the worshiper, but Jesus does. He deals with sin once and for all. Here, in Hebrews chapter 10, the author zooms in on this particular feature of Christ’s priesthood.
Listen in as we consider Hebrews 10’s description of the problem of guilt and the solution of sacrifice.
